Joey Games LLC ("Company", "we", "us") operates the HexBench software application and the hexbench.gg website. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Purchase information: Name, email address, and payment details when you purchase a license. Payment processing is handled by Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record), we do not store your credit card information.
• Host license and activation record: A license key is generated at purchase. To enforce one active host device, the license service stores the license identifier, an installation-generated device identifier, activation status, and activation/transfer timestamps.
• Support requests: Any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• No gameplay telemetry: The Software does not send gameplay analytics to the Company.
• No gameplay data: Your maps, characters, chat messages, and game sessions are stored locally on your device (or your self-hosted server). We never have access to this data.
• No cookies: The Software does not use cookies.
• No required player account: Downloading the Client and joining an independently hosted game does not require a HexBench account or Host License.

2. Website (hexbench.gg)

Our website may collect:

• Email address: If you sign up for our newsletter or mailing list (opt-in only).
• Basic analytics: Page views and referral sources via privacy-respecting analytics (no personal data tracking).

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Deliver your license key and software downloads.
• Activate one host device, deactivate it, and process immediate or 24-hour recovery transfers.
• Enforce the one-active-host activation limit for each Host License purchased.
• Provide customer support.
• Send product updates and announcements (you can unsubscribe at any time).

We do NOT:

• Sell your information to third parties.
• Share your information with advertisers.
• Use your information for targeted advertising.

• Purchase records: Retained as long as required by tax law (typically 7 years).
• Host activation records: Retained while the Host License remains active and as needed to resolve transfers, fraud, or support requests.
• Email list: Until you unsubscribe.
• Support requests: Retained for the duration of the support relationship.

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
